First Year Under New Ownership

Dave and Karla Gardner are celebrating their 1 year anniversary since the grand opening of IVO Resort in May 2015.Thanks to all the support from our friends and family, local folks, and faithful campers, our 1st year has been successful. We look forward to many more wonderful memories being made and shared here at Indian Valley. Recreational gold mining brought us here and God’s blessings are keeping us.

IVOR Then

Indian Valley was originally a summer camp for the Native American tribe of the Maidu Indians. In 1849, the Gold Rush was on and miners lined the banks of the Yuba River to line their pockets with gold. The area was homesteaded by Joseph Soley and the store of the Indian Valley Outpost was established in the 1930’s serving miners and loggers. When the Tahoe National Forest was established, camping became the family pastime and Indian Valley was a destination.

IVOR Now

Today, the outpost is now a “Resort.” Families tell us they have been camping here for 5 generations. We are proud to be a place for future generations to enjoy camping, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking and rafting as well as winter activities. The guests of the resort can relax while enjoying glamour camping in the creekside cabin, sleeping in an Indian Tepee, or bringing their own RV. There is a restaurant, bar and store, and catering is available for group events and special occasions. IVO Resort hosts Friday and Saturday night outdoor family movies and bands.
